Professional Information: Chance R. Johnson, Senior Vice-President and Managing Director of HSM Equity Partners, provides management of the group with extensive experience in acquisitions, dispositions, equity and debt placement and investment management.

Professional History: 

Prior to joining the group, Mr. Johnson, served as Director of Acquisitions/Finance for Polaris Realty Investments, L.C.  During his tenure he was instrumental in arranging the acquisition of various multifamily properties for the company.  Acquisitions arranged by Mr. Johnson increased company size by 40% in terms of number of units owned and managed.

Prior to joining Polaris Realty Investments, L.C., Mr. Johnson served as Executive Vice President of the Henry S. Miller Capital Markets Group. Mr. Johnson was involved in every aspect of the commercial real estate financing business and performed an active role in the execution of the firm’s transactions. During Mr. Johnson’s tenure, Henry S. Miller Capital Markets Group, a division of the Henry S. Miller Companies, arranged debt and equity financing in excess of $500 million for apartments, retail, office and industrial properties. 

Mr. Johnson began his career with the Ernst & Young/Kenneth Leventhal Real Estate Group, a then “Big Five” professional services firm.  While at Ernst & Young, he managed the day-to-day duties of service teams involved on numerous audit and consulting engagements for private and public real estate firms.  Mr. Johnson’s duties included SEC filings, commercial loan analysis, attestation procedures and external audit functions.  Clients included a major hospitality REIT with over $8 billion in assets, a major multi-family REIT, a conduit lender, and several public real estate companies.
