Henry
S. Miller, Jr. is Chairman Emertius of the Henry S. Miller
Companies and Henry S. Miller Interests, Inc.; and is Managing
Partner of Highland Park Village and Preston Royal shopping
centers. He started his real estate career in 1938 when
he joined his father after being in the insurance business.
He served in WWII from 1942 to 1945 in the U.S. Army, where
his service included North Africa and Italy. He entered
the service as Reserve Second Lieutenant and retired as Major.
He rejoined the company in 1946 and led its legendary growth
to the 5th largest real estate brokerage firm in the nation in
1984. Many of today's standards in the real estate
industry are innovations that have been credited to him,
including the concept of specialized real estate services.
He is respected for his many notable contributions to the
arts, including founding the Dallas Opera, and he is the
recipient of numerous professional, civic and business awards.
He holds a B.S. Degree from Southern Methodist University in
Dallas.
