Loy R.
Shaw, Jr., Senior Vice President of the Investment Banking
Group, has been in the commercial real estate investment
banking business for over eight years. He arranges debt and
equity financing for third party clients and the principals
of Henry S. Miller Commercial. His responsibilities include
the origination, placement and structuring of project
financing ranging from senior debt to joint ventures. He
has experience with all the major property types and more
obscure property types such as timeshares, fractional
resorts, condominiums, single family lot development and
seniors’ housing. Recent closings have included financing
for existing and to-be-built properties with a variety of
investment structures. Mr. Shaw earned a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Business Administration with a major in
Finance and a minor in Computer Science from Georgetown
University in three and a half years.
Professional History:
After
starting his career with EDS, Mr. Shaw joined Kensington
Capital, a national real estate investment banking firm
based in Dallas, TX. Kensington Capital, a subsidiary of
Berkshire Mortgage Finance, provided debt and equity
financing for existing and to-be-built commercial and
multifamily properties as an intermediary and provided
Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, and mezzanine financing as a
direct lender.
Production
Accomplishments:
During
his tenure with
Kensington
Capital and Henry S. Miller Investment Banking Group, Mr.
Shaw participated in the financing of existing and
to-be-built properties which included equity, joint
ventures, mezzanine debt, construction/mini-perm debt, and
senior debt, including life company, Fannie Mae, Freddie
Mac, and HUD debt. In 2004, Mr. Shaw was named a “Top
Producer” for the Henry S. Miller Investment Banking Group.
