Three
Retailers Stamp New Locations
HOUSTON,
TX - August 30, 2002--Rachael's
Hallmark has lined up its third location in Houston, taking
4,050 sf in the far northwest at Cole's Crossing. The deal is
one of three retail leases to close, absorbing a bit more than
11,500 sf. A
September opening is planned for the Hallmark store at the
Regency Centers-owned Cole's Crossing situated at US Highway
290 and Barker Cypress Road in the city's far northwest
submarket. The retailer also has taken a fourth location in a
plan to open in October. Details were not available by press
time. David Stukalin, president of Dallas-based Weitzman
Group's Houston office, brokered the lease. Cole's
Crossing is a 115,000-sf shopping center anchored by a
Randall's grocery store. The center serves as the main retail
location for several newly constructed upscale communities
situated on the outermost edge of the far northwest submarket
before it trails off to farms and cattle ranches. The area's
relatively new development makes it a prime spot for retail
since, by and large, it is considered to be underserved.
In a 4,972-sf pact, Youth Enhancement leased a spot at 12035
DeForrest Rd. Chris Kugle of the Houston office of Grubb &
Ellis Co. represented the building owner, Landmark Midwest
Properties. The Beechcrest Green Shopping Center at
10815 Beechnut in southwest Houston gets a 2,535-sf J&H
Washateria. Shawn Ackerman of the Houston office of Henry S.
Miller Commercial represented the property owner, 10815
Beechnut Inc.
Henry
S. Miller Commercial, founded in 1914, is Texas’ largest
independent commercial real estate firm and a member of The
Commercial Network, one of the largest affiliations of
commercial real estate firms in the nation.
