Welcome
to the Houston Business Journal's 2004 Heavy Hitters in
commercial real estate, recognizing Houston's third-party
commercial real estate brokers who are industry leaders as
chosen by their companies.
Henry S.
Miller Commercial
Shawn Ackerman
Shawn
Ackerman closed more than 35 retail leases and brokered the
sale of three shopping centers and one office building. In
addition, he secured the leasing and management of over 1
million square feet of retail space. Ackerman, senior
vice president in the retail division, has been in the real
estate business for more than 15 years and leads a team of
retail specialists in landlord and tenant representation for
the greater Houston area. During his career, he has been
responsible for project leasing of more than 2 million square
feet including shopping centers and industrial and office
properties.
Rollie Andre
While
consulting on tenant representation, Rollie Andre closed a
record number of lease transactions in 2003. He ended the year
by representing the purchase of 1400 Smith (formerly the Enron
Building) a 1.2 million-square-foot building for a total
consideration of $55.5 million. Over the last 22 years
Andre, senior vice president in the office division, has
represented 2.1 million square feet of tenant transactions for
a total consideration of approximately $210 million. He
has an equally impressive record of representing major office
building projects in Houston for sale or lease. These
prestigious projects encompass approximately 4.5 million
square feet of Class "A" office property.
Bruce Jester
In
2003, Bruce Jester brokered numerous retail center investment
sales as well as one significant land sale for retail
development. Jester, a senior vice president in the
investment/specialty division, calls upon 28 years of
experience in the commercial real estate business. He
has been involved in transactions valued at more than $700
million. Jester continues selling shopping centers in the $1
million to $10 million price range every year. While his
client list grows, he still retains accounts he developed in
the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Mark H. Wood
Mark H. Wood, a 19-year
veteran, was No. 11 in the state of Texas and No. 3 in the
Houston office for Henry S. Miller Commercial in 2003, with 20
lease transactions. A sample list of his transactions
includes Aveva Inc., Romar Consulting, Medical Ambulatory
Surgical Suites and Mitsui U.S.A. A senior vice
president in the office division, he has been involved in
transactions valued at more than $135 million.
Lance B.
Yamasaki
A top Henry S. Miller broker in
the sale of office buildings, Lance B. Yamasaki began 2003
with his largest sale, 1800 Bering, a 170,000-square-foot
office building, and continued with another sale of an office
building in Kingwood, completed before the end of the year.
Yamasaki, senior vice president in the investment/specialty
division, has 18 years experience as an investment broker
specializing in the acquisition/disposition of more than 40
office buildings, 30 shopping centers and hotels. He is a five
time Top 10 Producer for Henry S. Miller/Grubb & Ellis and
three-time Top 10 Producer (including No. 1) for Fuller
Commercial Brokerage Co. Yamasaki has been selected as
one of the 27 Hot Brokers in the nation by Commercial Property
News. His total volume of closed transactions exceeds $500
million. His education includes a bachelor of science
degree in marketing from The Ohio State University, an MBA
from The University of Dayton and a juris doctorate degree
from Salmon P. Chase College of Law.
