DALLAS, TX - April 11, 2008 -- The 7^th Annual Polo on the Lawn will take place Saturday, May 3, 2008 on the grounds of the Las Colinas Polo Club at 600 E. Royal Lane in Irving, Texas. The Family Place and USPA Henry S. Miller Cup are proud to announce this years Honorary Chairmen, Norman and Toni Brinker and Event Chairmen, Vaughn and Dena Miller of Henry S. Miller Commercial. 

Polo on the Lawn is an energetic, family-friendly afternoon of Polo, with non-stop action, beautiful thoroughbreds, champagne divot stomping and side-line socializing. The event features live and silent auctions, music from David Whiteman and the Experience, dancing and an energy-packed kids-zone. Throwing out the game ball this year will be Molly Hazlet, Miss Texas. Consumer reporter, Steve Noviello of FOX4’s “Deal or Dud” and “Save Me, Steve” will be the event emcee. The event reaches out to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area to introduce the Sport of Kings while raising funds for The Family Place and creating a great event for all to enjoy and feel good about attending!

This year, The Family Place marks its 30^th anniversary in the fight to end domestic violence. As the largest family violence service provider in Dallas, The Family Place reaches out to thousands of victims of family violence every year with award winning programs. The Family Place believes that intervention, emergency shelter, and crisis counseling for the whole family will save lives and that transitional housing and case management will transform lives for the better. In 30 years of service, The Family Place has counseled more than 135,000 clients, provided life-saving shelter to more than 16,000 women and children and answered more than 450,000 calls for help.
