Fort
Worth was established in 1849 by the U.S. Army
to protect territory from the Comanche
Indians, it was named after General William Jenkins Worth, a hero of the Mexican War.
Ft. Worth grew into a thriving cattle and railroad
center and today is home to over 1.6 million people.
Arlington was established in 1875 and named after the Virginia hometown of
General Robert E. Lee,
it has a colorful past that dates back to 5,000 B.C., when the Caddo Indians occupied the
land. Arlington experienced dramatic
growth in the 1950s, when the population rose from 8,000 to 45,000 under the leadership of Mayor Tom Vandergriff
and gained a reputation as an aggressive business
center. Arlington is home to the
